Big Move II Monday
Good morning my lovely sistas!
This will be my last post until I get my computer set up at the new house. Hopefully that will be this evening, but the day is going to be long and busy. There's really no telling WHEN I'll get things put back together. LOL!
Had an absolute ball last night at the Neil Diamond Concert. It was hard to let go of all my tasks and chores, but once I did, I relaxed and had a great time with my girls. We had fun and the concert was good and I was ever so grateful that I got to go. Neil Diamond may be in his 70s, but he is a born entertainer. And man, can he sing! I loved every minute.
There's so much pressing upon my mind right now, I can hardly form a coherent thought. SOOOO much to do before the movers get here this morning. I have to get off of here and get moving. Moving! Ha! Get it? LOL!
Love you all! See you on the flip side!
(I'll leave you with a pic of me and my girls. That's Carrie in the middle and Christie on the end.)
Good morning, happy Monday dear ladies (and any gents who may be reading)!
Thank you all for the continued good wishes on my recovery. I see my surgeon and the team in a few days and expect to get the clearance for exercise, travel and so on. I'm feeling good and all signs of that nasty infection are behind me too. Sorry I was out of touch for a few days. My screen time was a little limited but I am here now and ready to visit.
Vickie, that concert was just what the doctor ordered. I'm sure it was somewhat bittersweet but that's a lovely shot of you and your girls. My heart is heavy for you and for all you and Butch are going through. Keep plowing through that move - you're awesome! When it's behind you, then you can spend some time with him.
Judy, my dear, you have certainly had one devil of a time in the past few months. I hope the chest loosens up and you can recover - and of course you're in my prayers for the diagnosis and your procedure. When will that happen?
Connie, I hope all continues to go well with your sister, and with you. You can't recover in the midst of drama so i am happy to read you had a nice quiet day yesterday. How is the pain? Are you feeling some improvement?
Mary, HAPPY PATRIOTS DAY! My heart is heavy with remembering the bombing victims today. I'm glad that hat you get to sit with Taylor. I don't know if I ever told you where I am in NY - I live in Westchester County NY, and if you drive to LI via the Throggs Neck you will drive within a close distance of my house; all roads including I-95, I-684 and the Merritt/Hutch pass close by.
Yvonne, I hope your night was fun!
Eileen, you're an excellent caretaker for Richard, but that is a tremndous amount of pressure and stress. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
Jeannie, I so admire your work in academia. Strangely I love data analysis. I'm an analytics geek at heart! Good luck with your research.
Trish, what a lovely way to use your talents, singing at assisted living. I'm sure the music and your testimonies bring joy and comfort to the residents.
Carla, I love reading about your travels! But you mention a CT scan, and I must have missed something. Is everything ok?
Good news on my end: the long awaited day of pureed foods has arrived! Praise God and pass the magic bullet blender! LOL Seriously, its a different feeling entirely to have something closer to real food. the two things I've tried so far have not caused a problem. I had the most glorious scrambled egg this morning, with a dash of hot sauce. Lunch today is tuna fish with mayo and some kicked up tuscan seasoning, all pureed in my little magic bullet. I'll need a protein shake or soup to get me to 60 g, because the portions are still so small, but I think this is pretty good for day 1 puree. I had already tried the Eggface Baked Ricotta recipe pre-op, and love it, so I expect to make that for dinner. My husband is having some dental work done today so he will appreciate the soft food too, if he eats at all. He might be doing the liquid diet tonight, for all we know! Poor guy.
Well it's lovely to finally sit down and catch up. Thanks again for all your prayers and good wishes for me, they are obviously working! All my prayers to all of you and your families, as promised.
Cheers,
Christine

Hello Christine....I am happy you are now in the pureed foods stage. It isn't a lot but at least you can have somewhat normal foods now. Everything will taste great! The only problem I had at that stage was eggs. It was at least a year and a half or longer before I could eat an egg. No matter how they were prepared I couldn't get them down. I still to this day cannot eat pork chops or pork tenderloin for the same reason. No matter how tender it is cooked...nope! My doctor said it is because the chops and tenderloin is too dense. I can eat ribs and pork roast no problem. You are doing great at this stage already!!
I hope all went well at your hubby's dental appointment.
Wishing you a great day...love and hugs to you....connie d
Carla....I get the part about the co pay and rescheduling. What is the next sentence??
"They are lookingfir a groun hern l a that may have busted".
You need to check your posts....they are getting harder to read. LOL....your own language???
I assume this is about a hernia???????
Love and hugs...connie d
Hi Vickie and OFF,
I am so glad you had such a good time. I had every Neil Diamond album all through high school.
I hope your move goes well. I know you'll be exhausted tonight.
Connie, I'm okay, just not spending as much time posting coz I've not had anything too exciting to talk about.
I babysat Frankie this morning, and I'm going back this afternoon to watch all three. Colleen has a meeting at the college she works at.
Better scoot.
Love,
Trish
